19 de noviembre - La Ultima Carta (The Last Letter)

its about 99.5 percent over.
but not over yet!
ha.

well, its been fun. now i know why they say "The Best 2 Years." they honestly have been for me. at least at this point of my life... im sad to be leaving, but im happy/nervous to be back to a normal life. going to school, working, but still sharing the gospel. most of you will never comprehend how much ive learned here in the mission, but its been a LOT. i will strive to live what i have learned, ALWAYS. i will be landing in Phoenix at about 9:45am on Wed. at that point it will probably hit me. that im not a Mexican anymore. ill keep this short. see you soon!

good news! im staying for another 2 months!

jk. other good news. i ate some meat that you dont cook and it made me kinda sick. i guess you just put some lime or lemon on it and it cooks itself. weird huh?! i didnt believe it and i was kinda scared to eat it, but i did it. its called Tártara. i think its like the neck of a toro. tastes like tuna...

well, here i am, in the last week of the mission. still dont believe it. i remember when i was a little sunbeam the teachers were always like, "who wants to go on a mission?!" and everyone was always like "i do!" including me. but of course i never knew what it meant. until i actually became one. im happy ive been able to serve the Lord and do it well and faithfully. i cant wait to keep serving him when i finish this mission here in Mexico. there are still lots of missions that need to be accomplished. not one is impossible.

tomorrow im gonna get a vaccine! maybe that will kill all the worms and bugs that are in my body....  ;)

well gotta go! ill see you soon!

hola again.

this week was great! we found, we taught, we testified, we learned, we lived, we laughed, we loved, we prayed, we fasted, and we baptized!

twas fulfilling. if the Lord wants us to, we're gonna baptize this week as well. and if its not this week it will be the next. we have fasted and prayed a lot for this sister that is too ready to get baptized its ridiculous.  all she needs to do is get married and she is set to go! we are hoping for a miracle.

23 For we labor diligently to write, to apersuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by bgrace that we are saved, after all we can do.

love you!

i am very tired. pday is so tiring! i think its because my body is used to walking around and working and on pday we dont do anything. haha. i would love an afternoon nap. i think ill take one soon.

things are going well! we are contacting, finding, teaching, serving, etc. everything that a missionary does! and yes, we will be baptizing soon. this saturday. and they are future missionaries! well at least one is. cool huh?!

these last few weeks we are trying to find as many new people as we can. i need to try and find all the people i needed to find in my time here. i need to follow the spirit in order to do this. and i am seeing the Lords hand in this work. its real. its His. and its full of miracles.

well, another week has passed by. pretty fast. time only passes by fast here, so thats pretty good. i guess...

we are getting people prepared to get baptized on the 4th of november. they are a brother and sister of 15 and 14. they are sooooo smart and understand everything! their mom is a really strong member, so she helps them out with their doubts. and they already know a lot of members. their names are Enrique and Fernanda. Enrique is totally a future missionary. that makes me happy. and who knows... maybe Fernanda too.

theres also 2 others that wanna get baptized either the 11th or the 18th. Bertha and Selene. Bertha just needs to get married and badaboombadabing shes sinless! they have a lot of desire, but Bertha needs to stop living in sin! shes very committed though. they are a great family. love them a lot.

gotta go! love you all.

well, here i am, 23 months into the best 2 years of my life. 1 month left! how sad, exciting, scary, and thrilling. doesnt mean i can let up now. it just means i gotta work even harder. time to KEEP hitting the pavement and leave it on the court with out regrets and with out doubts.

things are progressing and people are committing themselves more and more and wanna know the truth. we are helping them do that so that they can change their lives and become disciples of the Savior. it was a great fast sunday over here! i shared my testimony and heard many great ones by the members here. the investigators that went to church really felt the spirit and the power of the testimonys of the members. the Spirit was strong.

my companion is leaving this area tomorrow and my new comp will be Elder Loera. i kinda know him...well see how this goes. he will be my last companion in the mission!

gotta go! love you!

Mosiah 4: 11-12
11 And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have atasted of his love, and have received a bremission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own cnothingness, and his dgoodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of ehumilityfcalling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing gsteadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.
12 And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with thealove of God, and always bretain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the cknowledgeof the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true.

i was totally gonna send pics today! too bad i forgot my camera... :( i guess youll have to wait till next week...

what a great general conference, right?! it was way spiritual and i loved it. pretty cool about the prophet's call to younger missionaries! and i agree with him, i think its better!

the work is progressing here in Xochimilco. its a really beautiful place. sometimes its hard because there are a lot of customs here and the people don't wanna change. but when we bring the spirit the people can start to feel that special feeling and they wanna know more! we are teaching 2 brothers that are really cool. they also speak inglish, so after we teach them we talk a little in inglish to help them practice. they believe in the BoM and the Restoration, but their dad is of another church and so they are scared of what hell say. we invited them to be baptized and they said yes so we are preparing them. and there are a handful of others that have dates and that are progressing a lot. its such a cool work the missionary work. it is unique. there is nothing more special. love you!

this  week was ward conference! it was pretty cool! some investigators were able to come and they liked it. the stake presidency came and talked and the classes were pretty well taught as well. we are helping lots of people obtain more faith in Christ and in God and well we are seeing results. there is a mom that wants to be baptized now and also her daughter. and well they had some problems with believing in God. her son died like 2 years ago and she was really mad that even though she prayed and prayed, he still died. but little by little she is recuperating that faith and she has decided she wants to be baptized. but she just needs to get married first. then she will get baptized. and her daughter too. she is like 33. shes cool too. i know i probably haven't experienced anything too hard in my life so i don't know what it would be like, but i could never deny the love of my Heavenly Father. He has given me everything  my family, friends, life, the mission, and the list goes on. i love Him and His son. and i know they love me. i'm grateful to live in such a time when the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. what a blessing it truly is. lets take advantage of it and share it. love you!

p.s. forgot to send pics until just now and i gotta go! i'm bad at this... :)

cool scripture from a cool friend!

12 And it came to pass that after I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith.

welp, off to another area!

im going to a place called Xochimilco. cool name huh.. i actually always wanted to go there. its really pretty...so ive heard. my friend over there said its like a forest haha. and i guess theres kinda like pueblos over there... really poor people, but theres also like areas with rich people. a lil of everything...

so ya the new elders that come over here should baptize a lot... if they dont get lost. im kinda nervous because theres a lot of good investis and i dont want them to get lost. its okay, everything happens for a reason. the Lord will bless them. im sending pics today, hopefully yall like em.

by the way, my bday is tomorrow (4 de septiembre). just so yall know.... hehe.

so its been cool working with such great people and helping them get converted. we married Joaquin and his wife Ofelia and they should get baptized on saturday. they have had some tough times with their conversion and all, but they are so converted and wanna get baptized and make this sacred covenant with God. he is so powerful. i think he will have a calling soon after he gets baptized. we were gonna baptize him this saturday the 1st, but he needs a special interview with the pres.

the other day we had a ward activity and a mom and her daughter liked it do much and they were like, so when is my baptismal date? haha so we put a date with Grisel, her daughter Mirna, and the grandma Antonia. its cool, the work of the Lord... :)

love you!

27 de agosto

well this week we were able to baptize and confirm 2 people. America and Fernando. they are both really excited for their new lives.

Fernando is 18 and is a friend of Alexis, who we baptized in May. we and the ward are gonna try and get them both prepared to go on missions within a year. they are both really good kids who are in the hard stages of their lives, but wanna be better. there are so many drugs and alcohol here in mexico and now they dont wanna be part of that.

America is a wife of a recent convert and we met her like 3 or 4 weeks ago and she was just really ready to receive us and find the restored gospel. shes way cool. this week we are gonna get a couple married and get them baptized on saturday as well.

I like the feeling of being instruments in the Lords hands. its neato!

ill send pics next week of both baptisms. no time today! gotta go! loves.

well hard work is paying off. as always.

yesterday we were able to get a lot of investgators to church and they all liked it! they were fellowshipped really well and they are gonna go to ward activities in the week.

its cool to see peoples reaction when they just experiment a little of the restored gospel. about 99% of the time they love it! im thankful to be a part of it and for this time to help people experiment and experience this mighty change of heart. the holy ghost is a miracle worker. i love it!

saturday we found a family of 5 and they seem really excited! 4 of them went to church and loved it! were hoping things get going with them.

well i dont really have more time.

love you

hola!

this week we had some dificulties in certain aspects, but in others went well. we were able to put more baptismal dates with some people and got some to church, and well people are getting excited to know the truth.

i really dont wanna go too much into details, but the Lord is blessing us. Joaquin. who has a date for the 16th started to hide from us because he doesnt wanna get married because he doesnt like the Law and Govt and stuff like that, but we found him hiding and told him to come out. he felt bad and we had some members at the lesson and he really opened up and now he wants to get baptized more than ever so he said that if he has to get married in order to get baptized he'll do it. his wife also wants to get baptized, but shes in the process of gettting her rest day on sundays.

a wife of a recent convert we found recently moved here and she is really chosen. we taught her like twice and put a baptismal date and she already went to church and liked it a lot. she loves how the fams can be together forever and how she can see her daughter again.

lots of people are ready to get baptized. we just gotta get them to church. i feel guided by the Lord to help these people. i love the work.

30 de julio

hello hello.

well here i am. working with the same. its so cool to see the work flourish and see the promises of the Lord come true. we had to change a lot of baptismal dates that we have because sometimes people dont go to church, but we are praying a lot and are trying to work with them. (any hints would be greatly appreciated.) its also kinda tough because we have almost all families that are super chosen and ready to make covenants, but arent married. nots not really a problem because we can marry them, but some need to get divorced first and others didnt think it was important to be legally married by the law, but we are helping them to understand and its great when the spirit backs us up!

cool story. my first convert that we baptized in this area went to EFY and LOVED it. he also wants to go on a mission.

another cool story. there was an old lady that i taught in one of my last areas, Ixtla, that finally got baptized after listening to the missionaries for like 2 years! her time finally came. and well since i attend in the same chapel i was able to go to her baptism and she was so happy and content and glad i was able to go. she thanked me for helping her and never leaving her. and the truth is that when i was there i thought about it, but i kept going and so did the missionaries that followed me.

love you!

well things are going good! we are getting people prepared for baptism and helping them (along with the Holy Ghost) to understand the restored gospel and become a part of it. the Lord is blessing us a lot and we are ready to see the miracles happen. people are feeling the spirit so strong and we are able to leave them wanting more. transfers are tomorrow but my comp and i dont have transfers. so that means ill probably be here until like October! haha. thats a long time in one area. i got here in may 1st. and who knows. i finish in Nov, maybe ill finsh in this area...

well i gotta go! were gonna have a district pizza party and play Clue. which is totally allowed.

Love you. Love Jesus. Love God. its amazing to feel the spirit and see it work with others to convert them. all we are are instruments in the hands of the Lord.

i love Alma and his testimony here, he glories in his purpose: I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do anot bglory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

well this week was actually really good!

we are finding so many new investigators and me and my comp are really just pushing it to the limit. gotta push it, push it, to the limit, limit.

we are starting to teach really well together. this week we were able to find 10 more new investigators and we set 8 baptismal dates with some of our other investigators. the branch doesnt really help that much, but things really are just getting better and they will just continue to get better! and in time the branch will start to help a litttle with the work. but i can see and feel the Lord working with us. if everything works out right we should baptize this week, next week, the next, and the next.....so far.....

i love my Heavenly Father. He lives. and i know He loves me. He loves every one of His children equally. this is His work and we all need to help and share the gospel with everyone we can. i absolutely LOVE this church, the restored gospel, and especially my Savior, Jesus Christ. with all my heart.

well this week was pretty good in some aspects. we were able to set 4 baptismal dates and find 10 new investigators! the Lord is blessing us and we are so grateful.

cool experience: we are teaching this guy joaquin. we found him because we saw his wife and she was carrying some of those big jugs of water, and well we helped her all the way to her house. we set a date with her and we went and just kinda got to know her. the next time we taught her and her husband, and wow, her husband was so ready to hear us. he already believes in the BoM, and he went to church yesterday and in the afternoon we went to his house and he was like, "i have been with so many churches: catholics, cristianos, jehovas witness, evangelists, pentacosts, etc. and today was my first time with the mormons. and i have never felt a spirit so strong. there is something you have that no one else has, and its the truth."

he will be baptized soon. ;)

the Lord prepares people.
