well this week was pretty good in some aspects. we were able to set 4 baptismal dates and find 10 new investigators! the Lord is blessing us and we are so grateful.

cool experience: we are teaching this guy joaquin. we found him because we saw his wife and she was carrying some of those big jugs of water, and well we helped her all the way to her house. we set a date with her and we went and just kinda got to know her. the next time we taught her and her husband, and wow, her husband was so ready to hear us. he already believes in the BoM, and he went to church yesterday and in the afternoon we went to his house and he was like, "i have been with so many churches: catholics, cristianos, jehovas witness, evangelists, pentacosts, etc. and today was my first time with the mormons. and i have never felt a spirit so strong. there is something you have that no one else has, and its the truth."

he will be baptized soon. ;)

the Lord prepares people.

hola!

well another transfer has just passed by suuuuuuuuuuuper fast. one of the fastest. my time is running out! only 5 months left for me to help people at my full potential to get them to come unto christ! haha. gotta get goin.

well this week was a little challenging. but things are getting better. we are finding lots of new people and tianguis is a hit! the problem is that sometimes when we contact the people we have a super good first appt and then we cant find them for like a week or sometimes more! its kinda difficult. but we just gotta keep working and be obedient and know that God will always help us with the necesities of us or the investigators. (hope that made sense) ha. i mean it is His work after all.

well for atleast another 6 weeks im here in this area and with my same comp! we hope to have a lot of success. actually, we always have success. because were obedient and we do what the Lord wants. thats real success.

president chavez is leaving in 3 weeks! i think... well, really soon. i cant remember the name of the new president but im excited to get to meet him and learn from him and his experiences.

gotta go! love you

dear fam,

this week wasnt all that great. we didnt really have too much success. a lot of appointments fell thru and we couldnt find people we had on the lists. so we just had to rebound on contacting. i hate contacting. but here where we dont really recieve references from members its the only thing we gotta do! practically...actually starting next saturday we are gonna put a little puesto in the tianguis. tianguis is like a big market that people put in the streets. its a good way to find people to teach. lots of missionaries have had success doing it.

i have a LOT of work to do in this area. i feel like we could really have success in this area, but we gotta work super hard. we need to find the people that are ready and waiting for us. we need a lot of help and guidance from the Spirit to be able to have this success that we want. we really need to be the instruments in the Lords hands to be able to do His work.

Alma 26: 3-4
3 Behold, I answer for you; for our brethren, the Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss, but behold, how amany of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made binstruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work.

4 Behold, athousands of them do rejoice, and have been brought into the fold of God.
well, i dont really have that much time to talk. we have to go to the meeting soon. but i hope everyone is doing well and choosing the right.

LOVE YOU!!!

well this week was just like any other... work, work, and more work. watching people start to understand the gospel and start to understand their place in the Plan of Salvation. its neat-o.

yesterday we had a baptism! it was pretty cool. and spiritual. the room was full of people and the spirit was just strong! its always strong when someone makes a sacred covenant with God like with baptism... his name is Alexis. hes like 17 years old, but was super content and he brought one of his friends to church and now were about to start teaching him and also the mom of Alexis! hopefully things work out and we can get everything going and start having more success. we gotta look for the chosen people!

it was good talking to the family yesterday. minus lauren and danny and cami.... maybe you guys should email me... jaja :)

well, time passes by really fast and well i gotta get to work and give it my all before its too late. besides, i have a meeting to get to...

love you!

well this was my first week in my new area in the branch Campestre, stake Paraiso with my new comp Elder Aguirre.

theres a LOT of hills and its a really big area and well theres a LOT of work to do. the people are more poor here and also a little more receptive.  i hope to have a lot of success in this area. i dont think it will be my last area, but i think ill be here till at least september... then finish out in another area. the branch is actually big enough to be a ward, but it has a lot of sisters and needs more brethren and priesthood. but theres some goood members. at church i saw a lot of people i knew from the other ward which was my 3rd area, Ixtla. members, my converts, and a fam that we reactivated. it was really cool to see all of them and their smiles when they saw me. it made me feel loved, and here in the mission its a great feeling...

at church yesterday some recent convert girls of like 10 and 11 years old said to investigators in their testimonies "i hope you stay here and never leave and i know you will never leave because i know you feel the spirit and well you should get baptized because this place is great! youll never regret it!"  and everyone was like laughing and well it was a neat experience to see that. it was a woman with a son and a daughter, and well they said they liked it and are gonna come next week and go to the ward activities on wednesdays. they were a cool blessing from the Lord.

well i hope everyone is being good and choosing the right and GOING TO CHURCH like they know they should...

love you,

30 de abril

dear friends and family,

well this week was my last week in Ermita! and im leaving tomorrow! wahoo! happy, but kinda sad. as always. but its normal to feel this way when you leave an area. im going to the branch Campestre. its kind of dangerous over there, but the people are a lot more receptive. ill be in the same chapel i was in in my last area, Ixtla. so i will see members from that ward and my converts! including Captain Mario Hook who i baptized in november and he already has the melkizidek priesthood! he'll be happy to see me!

this week we found a sister who is a good member and keeps the commandments and believes everything but is inactive... and well she had like a super bad day and has had a really hard life en total and has gone down a hard path in the gospel with some personal problems and some stupid members. anyways... the other day she went to an interview and left her wallet  there and the guy stole 3000 pesos from her which is the food for her daughter for the month and she was crying and super sad and we felt super bad and we offered her help with money and she didnt want it. but we left and in front of her house is a dominos pizza and i bought it for her and her daughter and we had the delivery guy go and deliver it to her. she ended up calling us and crying and she was so happy.

well, gotta go. love you and ill see you in 6 and a half months! not that im counting down ehh...

23 de abril

time sure goes by fast... we are starting the last week of this transfer and i think i finally might leave Ermita! im gonna complete 4 transfers here. 6 months! thats a lot. but the time has gone by pretty fast. but ya im kinda ready for something new! a new zone, a new area, new comp, new ward, etc. but obvi ill go where He wants me to go. who knows, ha maybe ill stay here again!

hmmm....what happened this week......

oh! so there is this apartment building RIGHT in front of the church and we decided to enter and knock the doors. theres probably about 15 doors and we got about half way and i knocked one and we presented ourselves and what we do and all that jazz and afterward the lady was like, "we're catholic, does it matter?" and i was like OF COURSE NOT!! haha so we walked in and we noticed that they were kinda poor. we sat down and all of a sudden kids started popping out of nowhere! like 4 or 5! and all but one are younger than 8.... and the 2 boys that are like 6 and 8 were like "hey we know you!" and in my head i was like, what are these kids talking about, ive never seen them in my life.. so i was like, oh ya? have you seen us around? and they say, "not your companion, just you! we fought with guns one time!" and i was like, guns? when have i ever played with guns? i was super confused so i just sat there thinking for a long time......then they we like, "in the window in front of the church!"

then it finally hit me! i pretty much just started laughing like crazy and everyone else had that look on their face like we were crazy. one time with my last comp we were standing outside the church on the grass and i looked up at this building in front and in the window of the second floor 2 kids with toy guns were like shooting us. and i said to my comp WATCH OUT! (pointing at the window) then we began to do somersaults in the grass and we hid behind trees and walls and we started defending ourselves! using only 2 hand grenades i had on my belt loops and my 5-finger pistol (my hand-for all that didnt get it). i started firing back! we played for like 5 minutes and it was pretty fun.. then i said, "that was like 4 months ago!" and they responded, "we know but it was so fun!"

anyways, we just kinda got to know them and talked a little about Jesus and the BofM and we sang them a hymn and we have an appt tomorrow! we'll see how it goes.

the Lord puts MANY people in our path. and when we are guided by the spirit we find them.

6 And I was aled by the Spirit, not bknowing beforehand the things which I should do.

7 Nevertheless I went forth,....
